About ScreenshotEdits

I'm Niels Kaspers, a product manager based in Tallinn, Estonia. I built ScreenshotEdits because I was tired of the gap between Preview and Photoshop.

Preview can crop and sign PDFs. Photoshop can do anything if you have 45 minutes and a YouTube tutorial. But neither of them is good at the thing I do fifty times a week: taking a screenshot, making it look presentable, and sharing it. That space in between felt empty.

I wanted one app that handles the whole screenshot workflow. Capture, crop, annotate, blur sensitive info, add a gradient background, drop it in a device frame, export. All without leaving the keyboard or opening a browser tab. And without uploading anything to someone else's server.

ScreenshotEdits is available on web, Mac, and Windows. The desktop app is built with Swift and runs locally on your machine. The web app works in any browser — no download needed. No cloud processing, no accounts, no telemetry. Your screenshots stay on your machine.

The app is free to use with every feature included. The free version adds a small watermark to exports. If you want clean exports, a one-time payment of €19 removes the watermark permanently. No subscription. I don't think screenshot editing should be a recurring expense.
