ScreenshotEdits on Windows

A full screenshot beautifier for Windows. Download, install in 10 seconds, and start making your screenshots look good. Free with all features — pay €19 once to remove the watermark.

1

Download the Windows app

Head to screenshotedits.com and click "Download Desktop App." The site auto-detects your OS and gives you the Windows installer. It's a standard .exe file, under 20MB. No bloatware bundled in.

2

Install and launch

Run the .exe. Windows might show a SmartScreen warning since we're a small developer — click "More info" then "Run anyway." The install takes about 10 seconds. No admin password required. You'll find ScreenshotEdits in your Start Menu right after.

3

Capture a screenshot with Win+Shift+S

Windows has a built-in capture shortcut: Win+Shift+S. Press it, select any area of your screen, and the screenshot goes straight to your clipboard. This is the fastest way to get a screenshot into ScreenshotEdits. The whole screen dims, you drag a rectangle, done.

4

Paste into the app

Open ScreenshotEdits and press Ctrl+V. Your screenshot lands on the canvas with a default gradient background already applied. No import dialog, no file picker, no waiting. Paste and it's there.

5

Customize and export

Pick a gradient you like from the sidebar. Adjust corner radius, shadow depth, padding. Need to hide something? Use the blur tool. Want to annotate? Add arrows and text. When it looks right, hit Ctrl+S to save as PNG or Ctrl+C to copy to clipboard. Paste directly into Slack, Teams, email — wherever.

Windows-specific tips

ScreenshotEdits works the same across platforms, but Windows has its own capture shortcuts. Here's how to get the best workflow.

Win+Shift+S is your best friend

This Windows shortcut captures any region of your screen and sends it to clipboard. No third-party capture tool needed. Take the screenshot, switch to ScreenshotEdits, Ctrl+V, done.

Print Screen still works too

Press PrtScn to capture the full screen, or Alt+PrtScn for just the active window. Both go to clipboard. Paste into ScreenshotEdits the same way.

Pin the app to your taskbar

Right-click ScreenshotEdits in the taskbar and select "Pin to taskbar." Now it's always one click away. Capture → click app → paste → export. Four steps, every time.

Use Ctrl+C for quick sharing

After beautifying your screenshot, press Ctrl+C to copy the result to clipboard. Paste it into Teams, Slack, Discord, or any chat app without saving a file to disk first.

Windows vs Mac — what's different?

Almost everything is the same. The Mac version has a couple of extras that haven't shipped on Windows yet.
